Dorothy Beth Warner was born November 3, 1917 on the family farm in rural Rice County, daughter of Albert and Annie (Johnson) Zimmerman. She attended country school and then the Northfield High School. On August 28, 1936 she was united in marriage to Maxwell Sherman Warner and they made their home on the Warner family farm east of Northfield on Highway 19 where she continued to live for the next 78 years.

They dairy farmed with Max’s brother Robert and his wife Ellen and were known as the Warner Brothers farm. Dorothy helped with the dairy chores, drove tractor bailing hay, and she and Ellen raised 1200 laying hens and delivered eggs to their customers in Northfield and the surrounding area for many years. They also had a large garden raising fruit and vegetables for their meals and to can in the fall.

Dorothy was an excellent cook and baker, member of the Northfield United Methodist Church where she was active in her Circle, active with the Rebekah Lodge, and belonged to the neighborhood Birthday Club. She and Max loved to dance and every Saturday they would go to the Empire Ballroom to have a good time. They loved to play cards and visit with the neighbors and spend time with their grandchildren. In later life Dorothy enjoyed watching TV, especially Wheel of Fortune, and also “word find” puzzles.

Dorothy is survived by son Tom (Patty) Warner of Northfield; daughter Patty (David) Errington of Northfield; grandchildren Michael (Kibby) Errington, Christine (Ray) Smith, Jill Klimek, Steven (Cheryl) Warner; grandson-in-law Norby Klimek; and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Max; sisters Mabel Drentlaw and Beulah Zimmerman; brothers Roger, Robert, and James Zimmerman; granddaughter Holly Errington; and great grandson Nathan Smith.
