Leon Jr Rothlisberger, age 82 of Northfield, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Our Lady of Peace Hospice Home in St. Paul. Funeral Services will be 12:00 noon Tuesday, March 31st at the Bierman Funeral Home in Northfield. Visitation will be Tuesday 1 hour prior to Services.

Leon J. Rothlisberger was born October 19, 1932 in Rugby, ND, son of Leon and Angeline (Benson) Rothlisberger. When he was 9 years old his family moved to New Prague, MN where he attended school graduating from New Prague High School in 1951. He then began driving for Admiral Merchants of St. Paul as an over the road semi driver.

On September 8, 1955 he was united in marriage to Sharon Grace Koestler in Washington, IA. They made their home in north Minneapolis. Leon then began driving for Yellow Freight which made deliveries in the metro area and they also owned and operated a Dairy Queen in Minneapolis.

In 1968 they moved to a hobby farm west of Northfield and Leon continued with Yellow Freight until retirement. In retirement he collected many cars including Model T’s, rode motorcycles, traveled, enjoyed watching movies, and played golf.

Leon is survived by daughters Faith Rothlisberger of Sacramento, CA, Hope (Tim) Smith of Eagan, Mn; Joy (Paul) Seitz of Huntersville, NC; son Terry Rothlisberger of Northfield; sister Juliane (Robert) Wollin of Wickenburg, AZ; brother Robert (Carol) Rothlisberger of Garland, TX; 7 grandchildren Wyatt and Jarrett Stephan, Taylor, Christian, and Harrison Seitz, Terry and Monique Rothlisberger. Preceded in death by his parents, wife Sharon, and grandson Conor Smith.
