Keith “Keeter” Chambers, age 78 of West Salem, WI and formerly of Northfield, passed away Monday, January 11, 2016 at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse with his wife and family by his side. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday, January 19, at Emmaus Baptist Church in Northfield with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be 4-7:00 pm, Monday, January 18, at the Bierman Funeral Home in Northfield and at the Church on Tuesday 1 hour prior to services.

Keith Adrian Chambers was born August 21, 1937 to Adrian and Christine (Gudvangen) Chambers in Faulkton, SD. Keith married Shirley Hausen May 19th, 1956. They were married until she lost her battle with cancer in 1998. On January 31, 2002, he married Laurie (Brown)Zellmer.

Keeter worked driving semi-truck most of his life. Over the years he worked for several different companies and had the opportunity to criss-cross much of the United States. He could entertain family and friends for hours with his experiences. He had a love and fascination of all things “cars”. It was a rare thing to find a vehicle he was unable to identify by make, model and year. He was also passionate about NASCAR and anything Earnhardt.

Keith is survived by his wife Laurie of West Salem; 2 daughters Darla (Dick) Harmer and Denise (Bill) Mosca both of Faribault; 2 step children Nikki (Eric) Jandro and Shawn (Eve) Zellmer both of Wisconsin; daughter-in-law Christine Chambers of Faribault; 9 grandchildren, Jeremiah Smith, Joshua Chambers, Albert Smith, Ryan Goetz, Delaina Petty, Brandon Chambers. Andy Harmer, Grace Emmert, and Charlie chambers; 4 step-grandchildren, Drew Zellmer, Ella Zellmer, Ashley Jandro, and Jacob Jandro; 13 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild; 3 brothers, Gabe (Julie) Larson Jr., Dwayne (Mavis) Chambers, and Richard (Suzanne) Larson; sister Gwen (John) Kastner; and many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, step-dad Gabe Larson, Sr., his first wife Shirley (Hausen) Chambers, son Dale, brother Dale and sister-in-law Joyce, and sister Betty (Dick) Rasmussen. In lieu of flowers a fund has been set up for Keeter’s grandson who is also battling cancer. Please specify if you would like your gift added to that fund.
