John also worked as a bartender at the Ranchero Supper Club and at the Coop in Webster for a number of years. Later John worked for Aldrich Farms with Carlyle Aldrich and they became very close friends.

John enjoyed spending time outdoors, planting and caring for flowers at Knecht’s Nursery, watching the deer and baby fawns in the spring, and feeding the squirrels, birds and crows. He was a very happy and humble person and always had a positive attitude.
