Earlyne Albright Moninger, age 77, of Northfield, Minnesota, passed away on Friday, January 20, 2017 in Fredericksburg, Texas. Earlyne was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Mildred and Earl Albright on March 6, 1939. Earlyne attended Sacred Heart School, St. Patrick’s School and Putnam City High School in Oklahoma City. After graduating high school, she attended the University of Oklahoma where she studied English literature. In 1958, she married Gene Moninger at St. Charles Borromeo church. After several moves early in their married lives, they settled down in Wichita, KS to raise their three children.
Earlyne was among many things, an avid reader, a tandem cyclist and a very proud grandmother. She was a lifelong learner, taking college classes throughout her adult life. She simply enjoyed learning more about the world. Earlyne never met a stranger, could strike up a conversation with anyone and had a very kind and nurturing spirit. Earlyne will be missed dearly by her friends and family.

Earlyne is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Mildred Albright, her sister, Sharon Bainter and niece Fawn Bainter. She is survived by her husband, Gene, their three children, Steve (Sue) Moninger of New Braunfels, TX, Lynn (Dave) Olson of Owatonna, MN and Scott (Christy) Moninger, of St. Louis, MO, sister Anita (Jim) Leathers of Bath, MI, brother Roger (Michele) Albright of Dallas, TX , and four grandchildren, Hannah, Rebecca, Austin and Eric.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Oklahoma City, with the visitation at 9 a.m. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery following the ceremony. Arrangements are being handled by Bill Merritt Funeral Services, 6201 NW 39th Expressway, Bethany, OK 73008.
