Dale W. Meyer, age 74, of Northfield, formerly of Cottage Grove, passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017, at his home under the care of hospice and with family at his side.

Dale Walter Meyer was born March 26, 1943, the son of Fred and Mabel (Ridlon) Meyer in Wolford Township, MN. He moved with his family to St. Paul Park, Minnesota and graduated from Park High School. He was united in marriage to Susan Ditzler. Dale proudly served in the United States Army and entered in September of 1962. He received his honorable discharge August 25, 1965, and continued serving with Army National Guard until 1968. Following his service, he was employed by Fritzie Fresh for over 33 years. He also worked for the Summit Golf Course in Cannon Falls and Car Time Auto Center in Dundas. He married Deborah Norberg in 2004 and the couple made their home in Northfield.

Dale enjoyed woodworking and was known as a “fixer upper.” He was generous in loaning equipment out to neighbors and friends for their own projects. Around the neighborhood, Dale and Deb’s place was known as “Meyer’s Free Rental.” He enjoyed watching NASCAR and going to races.

Dale is survived by his wife Deb of Northfield, his daughters Tammy Meyer of Faribault, Kelly Meyer of Cannon Falls, Holly (Neil) Johnson of White Bear Lake, step children Eric Norberg of Woodbury, Tyler Norberg of Northfield and Cristi Norberg of Northfield, grandchildren Peter, Aisha, Seire´, Brody, Gage, Danica, a step grandchild Ian, great grandchildren Emmett and Landyn, sisters-in-law Carol (Conrad) Agnos of Arlington, TX, Shirley Meyer of Deerwood, brother-in-law Richard (Geri) Ditzler of Cottage Grove, mother-in-law Betty Eilen and other relatives and friends. Preceding Dale in death was his first wife Susan, his parents, two brothers Duane and Dwight and a sister Diane.

Funeral services for Dale will be at Bierman Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 beginning at 11 AM with Reverend Gordon Orde officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 4, 2017 from 4 PM to 7 PM at Bierman Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
