Brian Heckers, age 59 of Northfield, passed away Monday, August 26, 2013 at the Reflections Care Suites of the Three Links Care Center following a two year struggle with pancreatic cancer.
Visitation will be held 5-7:00 pm Saturday, August 31st at the Bierman Funeral Home in Northfield with a reception to follow at the V.F.W. Club in Northfield.
Brian Philip Heckers was born July 23, 1954 in Pasadena, CA, son of Frank and Philomena (Quinn) Heckers. He was raised in El Monte, Ca and graduated from Arroyo High School in 1972. In 1974 he enlisted in the US Marines and following his discharge he began a long career as a finish carpenter.
On December 11, 1982 he was united in marriage to Debbe Hamblin and they made their home in Azusa, CA. They moved to Northfield in November of 1993 where Brian began Heckers Millworks working as a finish carpenter for College City Homes and numerous home remodeling projects. He continued working until he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. In his free time he enjoyed golfing, fishing, riding his Harley Davidson and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Brian Heckers is survived by wife Debbe; sons Kyle of Northfield, Curtis of Minneapolis, and Taylor of Northfield; brother Rob (Diane) Heckers of Claremont, CA; 3 grandchildren Kaitlin Heckers, Riley Freund, and Colby Heckers. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Claire Golding.
