Alice Margaret Hall, Age 94, of Northfield died Wednesday, March 22, 2018 peacefully at Reflections Care Center in Northfield.
Alice was born in Valley Grove, MN at the family farm and later graduated from Northfield High School. She then started working for Botsford Lumber Company as a bookkeeper. She married Richard Hall in 1946 after he returned from World War II and they settled in Northfield, where they would spend their lives together. She stayed at home to raise their 4 children until they each started school, at which point she started working for Carleton College as an administrator of financial services. She would go on to work there for 25 years before retiring.
After retiring, Alice and Richard enjoyed their time together at the lake, fishing, playing cards, and travelling throughout the United States. It was apparent by the time spent with their family that it was one of the most important aspects of their lives. The love of her life, Richard, died in 1992 but Alice stayed incredibly active afterward. She was an independent person who loved being involved. She would continue to keep family a large part of her life. She was a president of the VFW for one term, survived breast cancer, and would make routine trips to the casino as well. Alice enlightened the lives of those she was around and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her children Cheryl (Dan) Nesseth, Gary (Donna), Curt(Jana), Betty (George) Bultman; grandchildren Stacey Nesseth, Joshua (Erin), Timothy, Natalie (Reid) Bernard, Mitch (Shannon), Sarah (Andre) Sheats, Michael (Ashley) Bultman; great-grandchildren Madeline, Quinn, Christopher and Clara Hall, Macy and Clayton Bernard; sisters-in-law Vangie, Arlene Bovers, Dorothy Vesledahl; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard; brothers Orville and Elmer; and great-grandchild Taylor Bernard.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Dennison Lutheran Church, 37574 3rd Avenue, with a visitation one hour prior at the church. Interment will follow the service at Valley Grove Cemetery, Nerstrand. Memorials can be designated to the Dennison Lutheran Church.
