Ann Armstrong, age 51 of Northfield, formerly of Faribault, passed away with her husband and family by her side on Sunday afternoon, July 30, 2017, at the care center of the Northfield Retirement Community. Ann Marguerite Sheehy Armstrong was born February 15, 1966, in Faribault, Minnesota, to John and Carol (Davison) Sheehy. Ann Armstrong, age 51 of Northfield, formerly of Faribault, passed away with her husband and family by her side on Sunday afternoon, July 30, 2017, at the care center of the Northfield Retirement Community.

Ann Marguerite Sheehy Armstrong was born February 15, 1966, in Faribault, Minnesota, to John and Carol (Davison) Sheehy. She was raised on the family farm near Waterville and graduated from Waterville-Elysian High School in 1984. She married Christian Jensen in 1985 and after marriage they made their home in Faribault. They later divorced. In 1987, Ann began what became a career with Sheldahl Manufacturing in Northfield. On June 5, 1999, Ann married Marshall Armstrong. They made their home in Faribault for the next 17 years. In November 2016, Ann was diagnosed with cancer. Ann and Marshall moved to Northfield in May of this year.

Ann was a member of Unite Union #1481, was a certified boiler operator, and was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Northfield. She enjoyed music, singing, painting, kayaking, fishing, camping, anything she could do with her children and grandchildren and of course – collecting rocks. She was selfless, compassionate, family oriented and a friend to all. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband, Marshall; her children, Kelsey Jensen (Jon Platt), Thomas Jensen, Travis (Tamara) Armstrong, all of Faribault; 5 grandchildren, Brenna, Nevaeh, Alaina, Adrian, Colton; her mother, Carol Sheehy of Waterville; her sisters, Susan (Tom) Lymburn of Princeton, Mary Jo Dustin (Mitch Theilig) of Cottage Grove; her brothers, Jon Michael (Elaine) Sheehy of Waterville, Patrick Sheehy of Waterville; her brother-in-law, Marvin (Kathy) Armstrong of Faribault; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father.

Services will be 10:30AM, Saturday, August 5, 2017, at First United Church of Christ in Northfield. Visitation will be 4-7PM Friday, August 4, 2017, at Bierman Funeral Home in Northfield. Visitation will continue at the church on Saturday one hour prior to the service.

Memorials are preferred to the Virginia Piper Cancer Center at District One Hospital in Faribault.

    Ann had a good heart. So sorry for those closest to her. Her smile and free spirited personality was a gift to all that knew her. As a classmate Ann was such a good and fun person. For that I will remember her. My condolences.
