Connie Berg, age 69, of Northfield, passed away peacefully during the night on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at her home. Connie was born May 31, 1950, the daughter of Calvin and Louise (Mamula) Carlson in South Saint Paul. She attended school at South Saint Paul High School and graduated in 1968. Connie Berg, age 69, of Northfield, passed away peacefully during the night on Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at her home.

Connie was born May 31, 1950, the daughter of Calvin and Louise (Mamula) Carlson in South Saint Paul. She attended school at South Saint Paul High School and graduated in 1968. Connie then attended St. Mary’s Junior College where she received her occupational therapy assistant degree. Connie was united in marriage to Paul Berg on April 4, 1970, in St. Augustine’s Catholic Church in South Saint Paul. The couple made their home in Bloomington and Apple Valley where Connie worked for the Minneapolis Public Schools. In 1978, the couple moved to Northfield. Connie continued working for the Minneapolis Public School District at the Emerson School. In 1989, she began working for the Laura Baker Service Association in Northfield.

Connie loved to spend time with her family, grandkids, and friends. She had a passion for taking care of others including her special needs clients. Connie had a special place in her heart for dogs. She loved shopping, traveling, going to musicals and was a great cook. She was always there to listen or lend a hand. Over her life, Connie battled different cancers throughout her body but always persevered.

She is survived by her husband Paul of Northfield; her children Lisa Dahl of Lakeville; Amy Berg of Northfield; Adam (Marika) Berg of Gainesville, FL; Katie (Chad) Swenson of Lonsdale; and eight grandchildren Calvin; Ethan; Olivia; Logan; Bella; Darby; Paige; Charlee and her dog Jake. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be at Bierman Funeral Home on Saturday, July 13th, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Arrangements by Bierman Funeral Home and Crematory. biermanfuneralhome.com.

    Connie was so influential in the lives of people with disabilities. She had such a positive impact. All of us at Epic who had connections with Connie, enjoyed her positive outlook and great way of communicating questions/concerns. We could always see how passionately she cared for the people she supported. She will be missed. Deepest sympathies.
