Dorothy Miller, 83, of Webster, MN passed away on Friday, March 20, 2020 at her home in the arms of her husband, Dunnell. Dorothy Randina Gunderson was born on November 24, 1936 to Stanley and Mabel (Knudsen) Gunderson in Hawley, MN. She was raised in Hawley and graduated from Hawley High School. Dorothy Miller, 83, of Webster, MN passed away on Friday, March 20, 2020 at her home in the arms of her husband, Dunnell.

Dorothy Randina Gunderson was born on November 24, 1936 to Stanley and Mabel (Knudsen) Gunderson in Hawley, MN. She was raised in Hawley and graduated from Hawley High School. She worked as a nurse trainee in Moorhead for a few years before meeting Dunnell “Don” Miller in 1957.

She moved down to Minneapolis and worked at Honeywell and GE before marrying Don on June 14, 1958. They lived in St. Paul for a year before moving to several places: Phoenix, Chicago, and California. They eventually settled in Webster in 1983. Dorothy went back to work at this time as an administrative assistant in a healthcare system that eventually became Allina. She retired in 2000.

Dorothy was an outdoors person. She enjoyed gardening and travelling. She made it to five of the seven continents and did mission work in Africa and South America. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Dorothy will be deeply missed.

Dorothy is survived by her husband Dunnell “Don” of Webster; children Deann (James) Hochschild of Northfield, Charles of Prior Lake, Daniel of Webster, and Christine of Kilkenny; 8 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers Ted (Marlyss) Gunderson of Faribault and Charles (Ruth) Gunderson of Detroit Lakes; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents.

A private graveside service for Dorothy will be held on Monday, March 23, 2020 at Dunbar Memorial Cemetery, Wells, MN. Interment will follow.

    We were sorry to hear of Dorothy’s passing. We enjoyed visiting with her a couple years ago when she and her brother’s stopped in for a visit.

    I will miss Dorthy’s sweet soul, but I know she is dancing with her Lord and Savior. My thoughts and prayer are with her friends and family, who will miss her dearly.

    I’m so sorry to hear of Dorothy’s passing. I hadn’t seen her for a long time but have many fond memories of her, her brothers, and her parents when I was growing up, as our families were close. My sincere condolences, thoughts and prayers are with her whole family.
