Jeffrey Warren Ringlien, age 59, of Northfield, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 4, 2018, in Northfield. Jeff was born May 15, 1959, in Whitehall, Wisconsin the son of Warren and Myrtle (Iverson) Ringlien. Jeffrey Warren Ringlien, age 59, of Northfield, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, July 4, 2018, in Northfield.

Jeff was born May 15, 1959, in Whitehall, Wisconsin the son of Warren and Myrtle (Iverson) Ringlien. The family moved to Northfield in 1960 and here Jeff was raised and attended high school graduating in 1977. During his teen years, Jeff was active in tennis, hockey, baseball and choir. He was a charter member of the Northfield Boys Choir. Jeff continued his studies at Mankato State University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. While in college, Jeff sang with the MSU choir as well as the I Cantanti Chamber Choir in Northfield.

Over the years Jeff worked mostly with the Northfield Police Department in dispatch and evidence collection department. He was co-owner of NET ambulance services from 1988 to 1996 and a long time chief deputy with the Rice County Coroners Office. Jeff’s compassion and concern for families was evident in his personal and professional life.

Jeff was methodical and patient. He was very caring, kind hearted and took care of others. People really enjoyed his company and he was well liked. He was a friend of Northfield. In his spare time, Jeff enjoyed building model airplanes and rockets, duck hunting, fishing, trap shooting and being involved with his nephew and niece’s activities. He also volunteered with the Northfield Middle School Science Olympiad.

He is survived by his mother Myrtle of Northfield; a brother Andy (Ashley) of Northfield; his nephew Larson and niece Hannah of Northfield; and other family members. He was preceded in death by his father Warren (2007).

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, beginning at 11:30 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 500 3rd Street W, in Northfield. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church. A luncheon will be provided at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church immediately after the service. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery in Northfield. Arrangements by Bierman Funeral Home. biermanfuneralhome.com.
