Lawrence Francis “Larry” Ellsworth Jr., age 72, of Northfield, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at his home.
Larry was born on July 17, 1946 in Waukegan, Illinois, to Lawrence and Sophie (Tonin) Ellsworth. He attended Waukegan High School where he met Sharon Mjelde. The couple got married shortly after the graduation, in 1966. Together, they had two children, Lawrence and Jennifer and after a few years of marriage, the couple divorced.
While in Illinois, Larry dedicated many years working as a machinist at International Harvester Company. After moving to Northfield in 1989, he became a truck driver which allowed him to travel and explore a lot of new places, something Larry really enjoyed.
Larry loved fishing, hunting, collecting coins, and was an avid sports fan of Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears. His true passion was flying that made him attend commercial pilot school. Larry also was a music enthusiast and enjoyed many musical venues. In fact, the last concert he visited was the Eagles performance in Minneapolis. Larry will be remembered as a kind and gentle person who “didn’t have a mean bone in his body”.
Survivors include son Larry (Laura) of Lonsdale; daughter Jennifer (Todd) Fritz of Minneapolis; three grandchildren Samantha, Felicity, and Jackson; brother Richard (Deirdre) Wallace of Chicago, IL; loving partner Trudy Lynnes; former wife Sharon; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jerry Wallace, and sister Anita Stanphill.
A private Celebration of Larry’s Life will be held at a later day.
Memorials are preferred to Lawrence Ellsworth III at 515 4th Ave. SW, Lonsdale, MN 55046

Arrangements are with the Bierman Funeral Home. www.biermanfuneralhome.com

So sorry to hear of Larry’s passing. I remember being a Flower Girl at his and Sharon’s wedding. Our Deepest Sympathies.
