Melissa Blaisdell-Storlie, age 52 of Northfield, passed away with her husband, daughters, and family by her side on Saturday evening, July 8, 2017, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, the result of an aortic tear. Melissa Blaisdell-Storlie, age 52 of Northfield, passed away with her husband, daughters, and family by her side on Saturday evening, July 8, 2017, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, the result of an aortic tear.

Melissa Lynn Blaisdell-Storlie “Missy” was born October 20, 1964, in Winona, Minnesota, to Thomas and Linda (Stensrud) Blaisdell. She was raised in Dodge Center. In 1975, she moved with her family to Northfield and entered 5th grade at Sibley Elementary. She graduated from Northfield High School in 1983 and attended St. Olaf College for 2 years. She transferred to Mankato State University where in 1988 she received her degree in Psychology and Early Childhood Development. Following college Missy returned to Northfield and began working with her family at College City Beverage. On October 20, 1990, Missy married Kent Storlie at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. She continued working at College City Beverage until her father’s untimely death in 1997. For the past four years Missy, along with her sister Amy, have worked as office managers at Willinger’s Golf Club.

Missy enjoyed photography, music, concerts spending time at the family lake cabin, and of course her dogs Jasmine and Zoe! She loved being involved with her daughters and was active as a dance line coach and judge. She was loving, loyal, selfless, intelligent, generous and kind. She loved her family dearly and they loved her. She will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her husband Kent; her daughters Paige, Quinn and Taylor; her mother Linda Blaisdell of Northfield; her sister Amy (Peter) Stauffer of Lakeville, her brother Tim (Lisa) Blaisdell of Lake Elmo; her father-in-law and mother-in-law Al and Darlene Storlie of Northfield, her sister–in-law Abbie (Matt) Geiger, and her brother-in-law Jay (Laura) Storlie, all of Northfield; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and many many friends. She was preceded in death by her father Tom Blaisdell and her grandparents.

Funeral services will be 11:00AM, Thursday, July 13, 2017, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Northfield. Private interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Andrew Blaisdell, Dale Finger, Brian Head, Greg Head, Larry Hoffman and Matt Schiotz. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Blaisdell, Dave Schiotz, Jay Storlie and Willard Storlie. Visitation will be 3-7PM Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Bierman Funeral Home in Northfield. Visitation will continue at the church on Thursday one hour prior to the service.
