Millie (Olson) Berg, of Northfield, died Wednesday, July 18, 2018 in Northfield. She was born August 9th, 1938, to Oscar J. Olson and Selma Dahl Olson in Mora, MN. She was baptized and confirmed from Calvary Lutheran Church in Mora, and she attended a one-room grade school in the Knife Lake area. After the family moved to Northfield, MN, where her father was the manager of the St. Olaf farm, she graduated from Northfield High School, in 1956.

After graduation, Millie worked for the telephone company where she met many life-long friends. She married Dallas R. Berg at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Northfield in October of 1958. They raised 4 loving children: Stuart, Mark, Sondy and Sheldon. She began her 40-year career in Real Estate in Northfield, MN, as a broker and agent in 1976. One of her greatest joys was working with all of her clients, who became just like family to her. She also enjoyed working with so many talented realtors. It brought her great joy to be a mentor, colleague and friend to each of them.

Millie had a great sense of humor, loved to laugh and enjoyed life. It didn’t matter if you knew her for a few moments, or for her entire life, she always greeted everyone with a huge hug and a welcoming smile. People of all ages were drawn to her because of her positive attitude, her quick wit, inclusive nature and willingness to help others. She had a strong faith, and a unique ability to bring out the best in those around her.

Throughout her life she enjoyed being a leader and volunteer in the community. For example, she served as the President of the Rice County Board of Realtors, and was on the Board of Directors of the Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce. Throughout all of her volunteer activities, she really enjoyed the relationships she built and the positive influence they had on her life.

She loved living in the country with wide-open spaces with plenty of room for her children and grandchildren to gather and play. She liked reading and spending time with her family and friends. One of her favorite activities was seeing her grandchildren perform and play in their many sports and music activities.
