Alex William Larsen was born August 16, 1996, in Northfield, to James P. Jr. and Dolores M. (Tralle) Larsen. He attended Open Door Nursery School, Longfellow, Bridgewater, middle school and was currently a senior at Northfield High School. Alex had worked detasseling corn, detailed cars at Cartime, at Three Links and Northfield Public Schools in food service, delivered Northfield Shoppers with his father, and most recently at Make Shift. He aspired to become a master welder and someday work with his uncle in Faribault. He enjoyed fishing, skateboarding, riding and working on his minibike, working with his hands to make things, writing music. Alex was a kind and caring young man with a huge warm heart. He was always willing to go out of his way to help others, and was a good friend and confidant to many.

Survivors include his parents, Jim & Dolly of Dundas; his sisters, Alisa of Bloomington, Kayla of Dundas; his brother, Kevin (fiancee Angelica Grobe) of Northfield; his special nephew and godson, Jaxen; his grandparents, Roger and Bev Tralle of Dundas, Penny Rose of Northfield, James Sr. (Lisa) Larsen of Northfield; his great-grandmother, Lorrie Hare of Farmington; aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.

Alex passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday morning, February 25, 2015, at the age of 18.

Funeral services will be 11:00AM, Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at Little Prairie UMC in rural Northfield. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, Northfield. Pallbearers will be Deric Gillis, Calvin Gunderson, Alisa Larsen, Kevin Larsen, Jake Rezac, Dustin Larsen and Ashley Vieths. Honorary pallbearer will be Kayla Larsen and Mariah Shannon. Visitation will be 3-8PM Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at the Bierman Funeral Home in Northfield. Visitation will continue at the church on Wednesday one hour prior to the funeral.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.

In Alex memory, there will be a decal bumper sticker fund raiser with the proceeds going to suicide awareness. The decals are available through family and friends.
