Annabelle Korda, age 94 of Northfield, formerly of Winona, died peacefully early Wednesday, January 25, 2017, at Evergreen Lodge in Northfield Retirement Community.

Annabelle was born April 1, 1922, in Chisholm, Minnesota, to Douglas and Louise (Einsweiler) Erickson. She graduated from high school in 1940 and the University of Minnesota in 1944. After a dietetic internship at California Lutheran Hospital in Los Angeles she returned to Minnesota.

Annabelle was united in marriage to Lawrence Korda on October 3, 1945, in Chisholm. After his discharge from the Navy in 1946, they settled in Winona where they remained until 2004; later they relocated to Northfield in 2008. Lawrence died February 28, 2012.

Annabelle was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church (formerly Central) for nearly 70 years. She was active in United Methodist Women (UMW), the church choir and served as a lay leader. She was also a member of PEO Chapter AP for 63 years, a former member of the Portia Club and Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by three daughters Carol Korda (Bruce Dalgaard) of Northfield, Janet (Sam) Boulis of Lake Oswego, OR, Susan (Arne) Bergland of Helena, MT; six grandchildren Kristen, Anthony, David and Paul Boulis, Grete and Ingrid Bergland. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter Joy Korda Schaefer in 1985, her brother Douglas Erickson, a sister Gladys Emanuel and her parents.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 22, 2017 beginning at 2 PM at Northfield Retirement Community Chapel with Reverend Kristine Braaten-Lee officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Winona next to her husband and will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the NRC Foundation in Northfield, the Wesley United Methodist Church or donor’s choice.
